Love Wins: Pride Campaign

Love Wins is a moment to celebrate everyone’s right to love who they love, while being their most pure and authentic selves. This multifaceted campaign was geared to support The LGBTQIA and Trans communities in Oakland while also bringing awareness to education and job development resources.

I selected this pre-designed vector image from Freepik due to its various customization options.

Freepik is a resourceful solution when I do not have the bandwidth to deign new content from scratch. Having the option to customize colors or extract certain elements as needed is key when it comes to having a range of design options.

The PRIDE shop was curated to compliment the campaign's visual identity and color story. A percentage of sales generated were donated to 2 special community organizations.

This layout was created for the Love Wins email newsletter, featuring items from the PRIDE shop that visually relate to the themes color story.

The color story and typography from the cover image were extracted and slightly manipulated to create a cover image for Instagram stories. The second slide depicts a colorful overview of the campaigns initiative.

In honor of Pride month, McMullen donated a percentage of sales from its PRIDE Shop to support The Oakland LGBTQ Community Center. The Oakland LGBTQ Community Center is one of very few, all-inclusive LGBTQ community centers in the nation, led and founded by African Americans, and the first in the state of California.

Visually I wanted to continue the colorful theme from the cover art and carry it over to the community spotlight segments.

TransTech is another great organization doing amazing work to support the LGBTQ community. Founded by Angelica Ross, TransTech focuses on empowering trans people to educate and develop valuable job skills within marginalized LGBTQ communities.

Typography used in the main cover art was extracted, and manipulated slightly to create additional campaign graphics.
